Event Overview

Blow away the winter cobwebs and join Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice for our brand new springtime sponsored cycle event.

Starting at Woodgate Valley Visitor Centre, riders can choose from two scenic routes. Both routes meander through the leafy green South Birmingham suburbs and the picturesque countryside of North Worcestershire. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or complete novice, there is a route to suit your ability.

The Family Route -  A 10km laid back cycle through Woodgate Valley Country Park and around Bartley Green Reservoir

The Tour de Bartley Green – A 60km hilly challenge starting Bartley Green and extending into Frankley, and Romsley before heading back to Woodgate Valley Country Park

Cyclist can sign-in on the day and head off at any time between 10am and 11am.

Refreshments and toilets will be available at the start/finish point and for the Tour de Bartley Green route, there will be a water station and comfort stop en route. For your safety both routes will be fully signed and marshalled at busy junctions.

All finishers will receive a commemorative gift, refreshments and the opportunity to purchase some Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice merchandise.

Registration:

All participants must pre-register .

The Family Route - £6.00 per person (under 5’s – FREE)

The Tour de Bartley Green - £12.00 per person

Please note that this is a sponsored cycle ride and by signing up you are pledging to raise funds for the hospice by gathering sponsorship.  There isn’t a minimum sponsorship amount, we just ask that you raise as much as you can.

How your money helps

  • £25 pays for a Hospice at Home nurse for an hour
  • £65 pays for a nurses uniform
  • £294 pays for a patient to come and spend a day in our Day Hospice facility
  • £685 pays for a day’s palliative care from our doctors and nurses in the in-patient unit
