About the Event

Info for Riders

This event caters for all levels of keen cyclist although the 70 mile route including the Buttertubs climb featured on the first day of the Tour de France stage in Yorkshire is extremely challenging with over 5400 ft (2,000m) of ascent and a hilly or undulating route along the way. The 55 mile route misses out the Buttertubs climb, follows the first 15 miles of the 30 mile route before joining the long route at Nateby. It is still a challenging ride from Garsdale and across the open moorland to Kirkby Stephen then out to the furthest northerly point at Burrells near Appleby before heading back through Orton to Ravenstonedale and then returning to Sedbergh. The short 30 mile ride follows the same route as the last two years, heading along Garsdale from Sedbergh, then towards Kirkby Stephen but turning left at Pendragon Castle to head up to the Fat Lamb Inn at Ravenstonedale and again joining up with the other two routes back to Sedbergh along the valley taking in the stunning sight of Cautley Spout on t
