Event Overview

Welcome to the inaugural Cote-de-Holme Moss Sportive.

Organised by Holmfirth Cycling Club in association with The Bridge Public House, Holmbridge, this will become an annual 'must do' on the sportive calendar.

Based at the foot of the iconic Tour de France cat 2 climb, in Holmbridge Village, the weekend begins on Saturday 4th July 2015 with a variety of events including

  • Go Ride coaching activities (see the event website for further information)
  • Two testing Sportive rides will take place offering:

    • a choice of two different routes 
    • Holme Moss 'Massive' (The Leg Breaker) 141 Km and  3,300 M of ascent !
    • The 'Little un'  a shorter route covering 84 Km and 1,957 M of ascent.
    • parcours follows roads used by the 2014 Tour de France and the 2015 Tour de Yorkshire
    • Fully chip timed
    • both routes climb the iconic Holme Moss - a timed section.
    • full support and backup
    • full route marking
    • bronze, silver, gold cat. timings
    • Feed stations
    • mechanical support
    • Route marshalls
    • Go Ride coaching and activities at 'base' for families
    • post ride pasta party
    • massage

The event base will be the Bridge Public house which will offer

  • camping, 
  • a beer festival, 
  • food festival 
  • live bands 

Sunday 5th July 2015

  • Go Ride Racing, allowing the kids to put into practice what they've learned on the Saturday.
  • Family Sportive  (33Km/598 m climbing) (signposted, marshalled and with a feed station and recovery service) - cancelled (contact theevenr organiser for more info)
  • Opportunity to join members of Holmfirth Cycling Club on escorted rides around the area discovering some of the Holme Valleys hidden gems (from cobbled climbs to stunning views !)

The local community will be involved in the event and there are activities planned to cater for everyone - make a weekend of it and bring the family (Holmfirth is only half an hours walk along the road)

About the Event

Info for Riders

A new annual event on the Sportive calendar, Organised by Holmfirth Cycling Club in association with The Bridge Public House at Holmbridge. Held on the anniversary weekend of the Tour de France passing by - this will be a family event over 2 days. Start time for the Massive and Little'un Routes have changed to be between 8.30 amd 9.30am. Please arrive in plenty of time. Saturday 4th July kicks off with Go Ride coaching for youngsters and the opportunity to set up camp opposite the Bridge Pub who will be staging a beer, food and entertainment festival. Setting out between 8.30am -9.30 am the long Long and short sportive rides, each takes in the iconic Holme Moss climb featured in the Tour de France and further roads which the race followed. The 'Little un' covers 84Km and 1,923m. of ascent, and the 'Massive' will cover 141 Km and 3,281 m. of ascent ! Sunday 5th July will see Go Ride Races. for 6-16 year olds and accompanied rides with Holmfirth Cycling Club members, including a family friendl
