Event Summary
Event Overview
The Moor 2 Sea Sportive, promoted by Just Events Ltd, is now in it's third year and continues to go from strength to strength, with the field size being increased once again in an effort to meet demands.
The 2014 edition of this event will take place on Saturday 6th September from it's established home at Exeter Racecourse.
The Moor 2 Sea offers cyclists a choice of three routes, the INSPIRE (60 km), the CHALLENGE (100km) and the EXTREME (180km), with each route taking in Haldon Forest, Dartmoor National Park, Teign Valley, and the stunning South West Coast.
The Challenge & Extreme routes both include a 'King of the Mountains' timed stage, sponsored by Primal Europe. This KoM stage is a 6 km climb from Bovey Tracey to the top of Haytor and offers participants an additional 'challenge within a challenge'.
The KoM stage is the same iconic climb where John Tiernan-Locke (Team SKY) secured his KoM victory in the 2011 Tour of Britain and provided the spectacular finish of the Devon stage in 2013.
There is a much coveted KoM Medal Pin awarded to all who conquer this 1,200 ft climb, within 26 minutes and this year there are top of the range Primal Europe Helix Jerseys to be won for the quickest ascent within each of the age and gender categories.
Medals are awarded to everyone who completes their chosen route within the designated time for their age category. Full details of age categories are Medal Standards can be found on our website www.moor2sea.com
The event supports three very worthy charities, Help for Heroes, Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (Ashburton), and the Youth Hostel Association (Breaks for Kids).
