Event Overview

To celebrate the Grand Depart coming into our Valley we are holding a family hill climb from Paris in Scholes to Hade Edge, approx 1 mile up hill (gentle gradient).

All finishers will receive a Finishers Medal and their time.  There will be a Cycling Festival taking place at the finish with live music, food and entertainment, as well as local cycling clubs, cycling community organisations and bike maintainance.

From the center of Holmfirth go up Dunford Road (between Ironmongers and Shoulder of Mutton pub) straight to the top where the Bay Horse pub is on your left. Stay left and the venue is on your right hand side. There will be car park volunteers helping you to park and giving you directions to the registration tent. The Hill Climb takes place on the Scholes Moor Road from Paris to the brow of the hill overlooking the Huddersfield Sailing Club lake and can be seen clearly on Google Maps HD9 1RA.

About the Event

Info for Riders

You must have a road worthy bike and wearing of helmets is compulsory. Your entry fee includes a British Cycling day licence and covers you for insurance. *You don't need to be a British Cycling member to enter this event but you do need to register on the British Cycling web site to use the online site - enabling you to then enter*. The road is traffic free for the event. We want to encourage parents to ride with their children, if you want to ride in the ADULT AND CHILD TEAM CATEGORY - please inform the organiser by email before the event date. If you arrive by car please park at the finish (Hade Edge Football ground HD9 2JH) and ride down hill to the start arriving at least 10 minutes before your start time. Numbers and start times are available at venue in the Registration Area. Once you have completed the climb collect your finishers medal then ride to the Cycling Festival and enjoy the rest of the evening. The presentation for the King of the Mountains will be after all riders have finished.
