Event Overview

This is the second year of this event whicvh is planned to take place over 4 days from Friday 12th to Monday 15th September 2014 covering some 340 miles through some of Scotland’s most glorious countryside. Hopefully participants will be able to enjoy this as they cover over 200 miles in the first two days! They can then take it easy for the last two with only around 60 miles to cover on the final days cycling between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The Scottish Cities Cycle Challenge has been put together by two brothers and their friends, all of whom have been touched by cancer in recent years. The main aim of the event is to raise funds for cancer research and it is being supported by Cancer Research UK who have provided much assistance to the organizing committee.

If all applicants could aim to raise a minimum of £250 that would be absolutely fantastic. For 4 days of effort (for some) during the event and the training beforehand that is surely a very reachable target.

Info for Riders

EVENT CANCELLED - CONTACT THE EVENT ORGANISER FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. SO WHETHER YOU WISH TO ENTER ANY SINGLE STAGE, MULTIPLE STAGES OR THE WHOLE 4 STAGES, YOU ARE WELCOME TO DO SO. SIMPLY SELECT YOUR PREFERENCE AT THE SIGN UP STAGE. After the success of our first years event in September 2013 there seemed no other option that to do the same all over again. 2014 sees us following the same route and if we are lucky we will get the same weather (apart from Day 3 which was horrible!) The Scottish Cities Cycle Challenge may not be the Tour de France but it is going to test all but the fittest of cyclists! Taking riders through all of Scotland’s seven cities, starting in Inverness it travels down through Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Stirling and Glasgow before finishing in the capital city, Edinburgh.
