Wednesfield Aces were dominant in their Elite League opening tie with reining champions Poole this afternoon at the Ashmore Park Raceway.

The 18 heats opened in a stalemate in heat 1 and the points split, but this certainly wasn't the trend when 7 consecutive heat wins saw the Aces go into the interval 22 points ahead.   
8 of the remaining 9 heats also went to the home side. The final score 113-66.

Great news for the Wednesfield outfit fielding two young debutants Harrie Everiss and Haydn Rowley.

Here we go for heat 1. Aces win the toss and take the inside grids,
Heat 1 was a 5-5 split, but the dominance of Mould shows in heat 2 with and excellent team display taking 7-3

Steve Harris looking strong battling round the first bend into 2nd ahead of Griffiths 6-4
Waddams gets a terrific gate from 4 takes the win ahead of Johnson 7-3
Progressive scores 25-15

Heat6. Lee Aris show his strength with a last lap pass on Gluchowski. 6-4

Heat 8, 7-3. Bristow trys to force a pass on Jewkes and falls
Poole come back in 4-6. Waddams shown the outside of the track for 4 laps by Armes. Gluchowski gets the better of Smith
Interval 56-34

Heat 10 and Matt Smith has lightening reactions from gate 4 and takes the win ahead of Aris 7-3

Heat 11 and 12 go Aces way with 6-4
Progressive 72-45

Heat 14 and Aaron Smith gets his marching orders from Robin Spicer for a tapes infringment
Heat 14 Harris takes the lead, Mould passes on lap two followed by Waddams on last bend. 7-2

Heat 16. Harrie Everiss debuts for the aces,Heat 18. 13 year old Haydn Rowley debuts for the Aces,Haydn sees a challenge off from Chant to finish 3rd and a 6-4 heat.
