Jason Creswell wins 2014 Brentor Road Race

London Phoenix rider Jason Creswell sprinted to victory in a bunch finish to the Brentor Road Race, promoted by Okehampton CC in Devon.

The 32-year-old took the win ahead of fellow Londoner Kendal Noctor (Feather Cycles), while Dream CC’s James Phillips took third.

The early part of the race was high paced, but it wasn’t until the later stages that a break of two riders finally got clear.

Ashley Martin (Bikeshed UEX) and Callum Croft (Mud Sweat n Gears) gaining a maximum of around 40 seconds on the chasing bunch and staying clear until two laps to go.

Croft had swept up both the primes, but he missed out on the win as the bunch caught them and ensured that it would be a bunch gallop for the line to decide the podium places.

In the accompanying Regional B race, it was VC Bristol’s Matt Bunsbier who took the win ahead of George Clews (Somerset RC), while Hugo Cribb (Tri UK) was third.
