One Industries Mini Enduro Schedule 2014 including the The Trailhead Senior Series.

Mini Enduro – What is it?

Mini Enduro is the new fun exciting way to race Enduro on a mountain bike. Its aimed at new riders to the sport to give it a go and we also have the Pro am category for the more established racers.

There are 3 timed stages in each race with transfers in between, these transfers are not timed and do not count for the overall standing.

The great success of our Mini Downhill races is to bring new riders into racing downhill and we want to recreate this with Mini Enduro, So if you have never raced an Enduro before or just want a bit of fun racing Enduro away from the pressure of Uk Gravity Enduro series, perfect come and try a Mini Enduro.

The race will take place on Sunday 9th March 2014.

Race Date

Sunday 9th March 2014

The Format

The Mini Enduro’s will take place over one day and will be of a shorter distance to allow riders to practice the the 3 stages before the start of the race later in the day.

Timing on all stages down to 1/1000 of Second!

All three stage times will be added together to produce the overall results for each category.

The race order is fastest first:

    • Pro-Am
    • Senior 18-29
    • Master 30-39
    • Veteran 40-49
    • Super Veteran 50+
    • Open 17 & Under
    • Hardtail 12+
    • Women

Timing

The race is timed the same way as our downhill races using the lastest Tag Heuer Professional timing equipment, each stage will be timed down to 1/1000 second.

We can give you live results pretty much anywhere, we have timed races from inside multi story car parks to races on the side of a mountains for the 4x Pro Tour and in forests all over the country. This mean’s a serious investment in extra new equipment but we want to give you the rider the best experience possible.

Categories

  • Hardtail 12+
  • 17 & Under
  • 18-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50+
  • Pro-Am

Hardtail?

Some say there is not much disadvantage to racing on a hardtail to a full suspension bike so why do a category for them?

We see this has ride what you have type of racing if you have an all mountain bike that’s great if you have hardtail XC bike or a do it all hardtail then this is way for you start racing on it and chance to stand on the podium in your category.

Pro-Am?

This category is for the more experienced racers to have some fun racing and get some practice in for the Uk Gravity Enduro Series.

For Example if your in the at least the top 10 of your category Junior, Senior, Master, Vets in the Uk Gravity Enduro Series you should race Pro-Am so you can test yourself against other quick riders and rider a different group of riders which will spice things up and hopefully make it more fun racing a Mini Enduro.

trailheadlogo

In 2014 the Senior category is sponsored by the Trailhead Shop.

The Mini Enduro races are all standalone, so there is no pressure of racing an entire series. You can just enter any event and ‘race as you go’. However ourselves and Sandy from the Trailhead shop have realised that some people still like racing for an overall position at the end of the series, so Sandy from the Shrewsbury based bike shop is going to also sponsor the overall winner of the senior category as well as offer prizes at each round for the top 3 in seniors. All rounds will count for the Trailhead Senior Category Series.

Rules

There are 3 stages in each event, with transfers in between these transfers are not timed and do not count for the overall standing. Special stages close at a specified time, to ensure the event finishes on time. Riders will be notified at registration on the morning of the event

Time Controls are used check riders in ready for the stage start time.

Bikes

An all mountain bike is ideal for these races but any mountain bike is allowed

  • hardtail,
  • short travel,
  • long travel,
  • 29”
  • a downhill bike but not recommended with the riding in-between transfer stages.
  • Only one Bicycle can be used during an event, including any transition stages.
  • Competitors must start and finish the competition on the same frame, fork and wheels.

Equipment

  • A helmet conforming to technical regulation 8.6.1 must be worn during all race and transition stages.
  • Knee and elbow protectors are advisable.
  • All Competitors must be self sufficient and prepared for a varying climate as well as any basic mechanical repairs. Consideration should be given to the nature of the course and the length of time the event may take to complete.

This course is marked with signs and with some sections that are taped if a specific line should be taken on the stage.

If a competitor leaves the trail/course, they must re-enter at the same point and must restore the tape as they found it.

Course Cutting = Disqualification

If a rider is spotted cutting a special stage course by a marshal they will be disqualified.

Riders must follow the defined track and must not deviate over 1m from the main trail.

The race is limited and race entry will close when the race is full. Please enter now to get your place or miss out on racing the Mini Enduro.
