Alpine Bikes and Velo Sportive present the inaugural cyclo sportive "Tour of The Shire"

With the highest village in Scotland and the highest golf course in the UK come and ride iconic climbs in the inaugural Alpine Bikes Tour of The Shire. With three courses suited to ability offering a unique sporting challenge in the central belt of Scotland.

Unrivalled Scenery as you crest the 11km Mennock pass passing through Scotland's highest villages of Wanlockhead and Leadhills you will see the splendor of South Lanarkshire's hilly terrain.

Our marshalled and fully supported routing offers a fantastic challenge with unrivalled scenery on what will be new roads to most. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a newcomer looking for your first sportive, this event will have something for you.

Registration: Sunday morning of the event (6.30am – 8.00am). Start Times: between 8:00am and 9:00am The event is a cyclo sportive for both experienced and developing amateur cyclists: Cost: £32.00 What you get for your entry fee: Choice of three routes with comprehensive signage Finishers medal Event gift bag (Alpine Bikes) Electronic timing chips Technical support (Alpine Bikes) Feed and water stations along the route (Supported by Tunnocks of Uddingston and High5) King of the Mountain time trial included (Mennock Pass 11km) Insurance cover through British Cycling Broom wagon, First aid and emergency service available Event medal Ideal training for our sister event on the 14th September "Etape Trossach's" The minimum age for entry is 16 years of age. All participants under the age of 18 must have had a consent form completed by their parent or guardian.
