Event Overview

This is a charity fund raising event in support of Norbury Primary School. Organised and run by volunteers the Batch Burner promises to be the most fun and friendly Mountain Bike challenge event that you can enter. 

Established in 2013 and back again on June 7th 2014 the Long Mynd Batch Burner will cover 48km of excellent mountain biking terrain over the Long Mynd taking in the best of 4000ft of singletrack descents and the most challenging climbs. 

A mass start challenge event with no prizes for first place. The emphasis is all about riding the best bits of the Long Mynd’s natural trails at your own pace with plenty of strenuous climbs and technically demanding descents.

A good fitness level is required and off road handling skills.

£26 entry fee includes:

• Full route marking and marshalling
• Mechanical support and broom wagon
• Event centre facilities and parking
• On site catering
• Free BBQ for all participants
• Feed station on route
• Rider public liability insurance
• Event photography
• Spot prizes
• Ltd edition Batch Burner mug for all entrants
• Goodie bag for all entrants

A donation to the National Trust is also included in the entry fee to help them maintain the tracks.

About the Event

Info for Riders

The Start and Finish are at Norbury Primary School with 2 miles of lovely quiet country lanes to warm up before starting the first of four challenging climbs of the Long Mynd. 4000ft foot of exciting descent does mean 4000ft of ascent plus all the best bits of the Long Mynd’s singletrack. Thanks must go to Plush Hill Cycles for designing the route and to the National Trust for opening up a single track downhill section just for this one day! All entries online and further details on our website. The entry fee includes a donation towards the National Trust. About the Event

Info for Riders

The Start and Finish are at Norbury Primary School with 2 miles of lovely quiet country lanes to warm up before starting the first of four challenging climbs of the Long Mynd. 4000ft foot of exciting descent does mean 4000ft of ascent plus all the best bits of the Long Mynd’s singletrack. Thanks must go to Plush Hill Cycles for designing the route and to the National Trust for opening up a single track downhill section just for this one day! All entries online and further details on our website. The entry fee includes a donation towards the National Trust.
