The Hackney GT River Ride

Offroad Leisure , London – Saturday, 23 Nov 2013

Event Summary

Event Overview

THE HACKNEY GT RIVER RIDE (supported by ZICO & TORQ) Saturday 23rd November.

Join the Hackney GT crew on a river adventure by bike. We’ll take a little-known and traffic-free urban escape route from east London which whisks us out of Hackney past the Olympic Park and tidal creeks down to the Thames. Crossing the mighty river by boat (we said it was an adventure), we’ll explore the changing scenery of the estuary - from the grand buildings of the Royal Arsenal, past riverside industry and out to deserted marshes.

The River Ride will leave from the Hackney GT pop-up shop, 99 Morning Lane, London E9 6PG at 9.30am. There will be a short mid-ride drink and snack stop. We aim to return to the pop-up by mid-afternoon for post-ride drinks and snacks.
There is great coffee and food available next door at Brew for Two before and after the ride and our friends at Torq will be supplying energy products.

Please be self-sufficient (with spare inner tubes etc.) and be adequately dressed for the expected weather conditions. We aim to ride as one group (there will be a shorter option returning to Hackney earlier).
(under-16s welcome if accompanied by a parent)
