The sun shone on the west coast as Ystwyth Cycling Club kicked off the Aberystwyth Cycle Festival with the third round of the Welsh Cycling Mountain Bike Cross Country Series.
The third round at Allt Ddel Woods, Penrhyncoch took place over the 4km course, with conditions favourable as rain held off.
Tim Davies, CC Abergavenny continued to dominate in the Grand Veterans series with his third win in three of the series. Peter Harris, Pearce Cycles RT also continued his winning streak in the Super Veterans.
The young riders battled it out in the youth and junior categories. Tim Freeman, Coed y Brenin Dragons, ended Scott Williams, Marsh Tracks Race Team hopes of a third series win as Freeman took the win in Allt Ddel.
Ystwyth CC and Ystwyth Juniors showed strength in numbers in the youth categories, with strong support for the local riders in all categories. Thank you to Cambrian Tyres, Aberystwyth University and Barry Simkin Building and Planning Consultants along with all the volunteers and officials for supporting the series.
Welsh Cycling Mountain Bike Cross Country Championships
The fourth round of the series will take place on Sunday 18 June, and will incorporate the Welsh Cycling Mountain Bike Cross Country Championships hosted by John Lloyd Racing. Entries are available online, closing Monday 5 June.
