Work is set to begin at Pembrey Country Park, Carmarthenshire to transform the site into a brand new cycling facility for west Wales.

Take a look at the site from above, whcih will become a hib of cycling activity for local cycling clubs with the potential to host national circuit races.

Welsh Cycling announced earlier this year a new £500,000 facility was to be developed on the site in Carmarthenshire, with support from Sport Wales and Carmarthenshire County Council. The facility will become only the second closed road circuit in Wales, with the other based at Marsh Tracks, Rhyl.

The circuit is set to be complete and ready to host it's first event later in 2017. In addition, Carmarthen Velodrome is currently under renovation and is also set to be back in full use in the autumn.
