Newport Cycle Speedway stars will compete in Ashes test

Newport Cycle Speedway club riders Mark Carmichael, Nicky Evans and Danielle Riley have been selected to race for Great Britain in the upcoming test against Australia on Wednesday 29 July 2015.

The three match Ashes Series will take place in Oxford, Coventry and Newport.The home test will take place at Newport International Sports Village on Wednesday 29 July tapes up at 6.00pm, with live music and refreshments available.

Mark Carmichael and Nicky Evans have been in fine form all season and their hard work has been rewarded by the selectors with a place in the squad against Australia. Female racer Danielle Riley takes her place in the Great Britain women's team after showing impressive form this year, winning the prestigious Welsh Open. Danielle is now recognised as one of the top female racers in cycle speedway.

All three Welsh riders will be in action at the second test in Newport, sponsored by Dig-It Landscapes of Pontypool. Entry is free to spectators on the night.
