The Welsh Cycling Project 2018 Youth Structured Quality Training (SQT) sessions will recommence on Thursday 3 October at Wales National Velodrome, Newport. Full information of the new format for the SQT session is detailed below.

Session:

Project 2018 SQT

Location:

Wales National Velodrome, Newport NP19 4RB

Time:   Every Thursday 6.00pm – 8.00pm (track warm up starts at 6.00pm prompt)
Description: 

Session will focus on key track cycling skills to include race specific elements.

Requirements:  

Participants will need the physical fitness to participate in this two hour session – there will be short breaks for participant feedback. Whilst skills biased, athletes are expected to participate in all drills fully without ceasing efforts due to lack of fitness or commitment. Participants must be British Cycling members. Riders who wish to be considered to represent Project 2018 during 2014 are expected to attend this session.

Eligiblity (2013):

Youths born 1997, 1998, 1999 & 2000. Riders most also be eligible to compete for Wales.

                              

This session is geared towards young athletes with the ambition to race at a National level across the disciplines and ultimately represent Wales at International level.

Please be aware the session is governed by capacity limits as imposed by the coach qualifications. Oversubscription will be prioritised in order of age and / or ability to participate in the session due to fitness / skill level. The Project 2018 Development Officer reserves the right to prioritise attendees as outlined above.
