We crowned our first two Scottish National Champions of 2017 at the weekend, John Archibald (Pro Vision Scotland) and Lynsey Curran (Dooleys Cycles) took the titles at the Olympic Time Trial Championships at Tour of the Meldons. It has been a busy few weeks for the Scottish Cycling Performance Development Squad – the Mountain Bikers had a joint skills camp at Comrie Croft with British Cycling and the sprinters were off competing in London and Manchester.
Around 60 youths took advantage of the two Omnium Training Sessions at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome ahead of the Glasgow Youth Omnium which took place on 22nd April. The third round of the Scottish National Road Race Series took place at the EKRC Kames Crit too.
The Scottish Downhill Association host the second round of the Scottish National Series at Innerleithan, to find out more on the how that went and to get the results please got to their Facebook page.
The second round of the Scottish Cycling Mini Downhill Series took place at the Nevis Range, Fort William at the weekend, with another group of riders now set to head to the finals in Fort William. The next round will be at Dunkeld.

Scottish Cycling are bringing back #GiveItAGo – the free track sessions offer the opportunity for new riders born between 1999 and 2006 to try out track cycling at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. Impressed by the riders at the World Championships? That could be you. The first session takes place this evening, however you can still sign up for another one on Sunday 30th April.
