Summer Cycling Roadshow Coming to Lancashire
Posted: 10th March 2010 | Source: Pennine Events
Cycling events organisers Pennine Events are once again organising a summer-long road show across Lancashire to encourage people to take up cycling.
Pennine Events, which specialises in organising cycling and health-related events across the country, is staging the fun and informative road shows on behalf of Lancashire County Council. It follows a successful series of 17 road shows that the company organised for the Council last summer.
People will be able to take advantage of free information about all aspects of cycling when the road show - called The Lancashire County Council & Travel wise Cycling Road show - visits numerous locations in the county between April and September.
The team at Pennine Events will provide an extensive range of free literature, route guides, giveaways, maps and travel leaflets for the public at each road show.
The Road show is sponsored by Lancashire County Council and Travel wise who wants to promote the healthy benefits of cycling to people and increase the number of people cycling in the county.
Mark Sandamas, Director of Pennine Events, said: "We are pleased to have been asked again to organise this summer-long series of road shows to encourage more people to take up cycling in Lancashire. The county is blessed with lots of cycle paths for people to get away from traffic and enjoy the fabulous countryside. The road shows aim to provide all the information that people need in order to start cycling and enjoy what Lancashire has to offer the cyclist."
Visitors to the road show can even try the ‘Pennine Events Cycle-Smoothie Maker' where they pedal a bike to produce a fresh, healthy, tasty and free smoothie for them to drink!
Businesses across the county are also encouraged to help their staff to get fit and enjoy the health benefits of cycling by hosting a road show at their premises. Businesses can get more information about hosting a road show including the cost by calling Alison Abbott at Pennine Events on 01772 447 979 or emailing alison@pennineevents.co.uk
Mark added: "We are keen to encourage businesses across the county to help their staff become more active through cycling and we are able to bring the road show to their premises or even devise a special event for the individual needs of a business."
The schedule for the road shows includes:
- Burnley Town Centre - Wednesday, 7th April
- Myerscough College Open Day - Sunday, 6th June
- Wyre Cycle Show - Sunday, 13th June
