Following last night’s victory for Matt Bostock (Canyon DHB p/b Bloor Homes) in Otley, the men’s HSBC UK | National Circuit Series swiftly moves on to round 2 – the Wales Open Criterium – in Abergavenny on Friday.

Bostock will be back in action, with another strong-looking Canyon DHB p/b Bloor Homes contingent – including Rory Townsend, Charlie Tanfield and Max Stedman – alongside him.

Chris Latham (Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brother UK) claimed fourth in Otley, and he’ll be joined on the start line in Abergavenny by team-mates including Ed Clancy, Alistair Slater and Michael Mottram.

The likes of Steve Lampier (Saint Piran), Matt Holmes and Jon Mould (both Madison Genesis) and Dan Tulett (Team Wiggins Le Col) are also set to compete, with the race scheduled to begin at 8pm.

This is the second of six rounds in the men’s series, with further races in Newcastle (July 10), Colne (July 16), Barnsley (July 19) and Sheffield (July 24) set to decide the series winner.

The women’s HSBC UK | National Circuit Series also took in Otley last night, with Jess Roberts (Team Breeze) taking victory. Elizabeth Bennett (Campinense – Velo Performance) leads the series with one round (Barnsley) still to come.
