VCR Spring Sportive in Partnership with Re~Cycle - 31st of May 2025

VC Revolution Cycling Club will be promoting its Annual Spring Sportive on a rolling course based around the Essex and Suffolk borders. It's with great pleasure that for the 2025 edition, we again have partnered up with Re~Cycle! Re~Cycle is an amazing local charity (based in Wormingford) that ships bikes to Africa to change lives!

Over the past three years, we have now been able to donate £5000 to Re~Cycle, thanks to all our amazing participants!

Our event HQ will be set at Re~Cycle, so everyone can have a look at the amazing work that is done here! Next to that, all proceeds of this event will be donated to Re~Cycle!

We will be offering two challenging fully sign-posted routes, with maps and GPX files available online (please see 'About').
- 64 miles RT with 3000 ft elevation (102 km, 900m climbing)
- 42 miles RT with 1860 ft elevation (67 km, 570m climbing)

Info for Riders

Event HQ and sign on opens from 8:00am

64 miles: Riders on the long route can leave event HQ from 8:30am solo or in group. If you plan to ride in a group, we will stagger these according to the below expected speeds. The 'Gold Group' will set off first, with the Silver and then Bronze rides starting in quick succession afterwards (below timings depend on numbers of riders and size of groups)

• Gold:       3hrs 15mins [20 mph average] departs 8:30am
• Silver:     3hrs 36 mins [18 mph average] departs 8:40am
• Bronze:   4hrs 3 mins [16 mph average] departs 8:50am      
          
  

42 miles: Riders partaking in the medium route, can depart from the event HQ from 9:00am  

Any riders under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult and helmets are compulsory for all riders.
