Learn the art of maintaining your bike from the people who train the UK’s professional cycle mechanics.

The Cytech home mechanic qualification is an accredited short course covering a comprehensive range of cycle maintenance topics designed to give you a good level of mechanical ability. Delivered by the ATG Training experts, a team of experienced former industry mechanics with teaching qualifications, you’ll learn new skills in an enjoyable way from people who love to share their knowledge and experience.

Topics covered

  • Bike terminology, tooling names and uses
  • Headsets, handlebars and stems
  • Setup and adjustment of brakes and gears
  • Drive train: bottom bracket, cranks and pedals, chain and rear cassette
  • Wheel truing
  • Tyres and tubes
  • Plus the chance to ask the experts any cycle maintenance and service related questions

Upon completion you will be able to undertake basic service and repair tasks on your bike which will keep your machine in top condition (excluding hydraulics).

The course costs £299 for two days of professional training. British Cycling members who attend the course will get a free Park Tool goody bag RRP £99.00!

To get your free Park Tool kit please show your membership card or a copy of Member News to the ATG Training officer when attending your Cytech home mechanic course at one of the three centres – London, Oxford or Stafford.
