The Coaching Madison workshop has been developed by British Cycling, in conjunction with experts from the discipline of track cycling.
About the course
This one-day workshop aims to develop coaches’ knowledge and understanding of the Madison event. It introduces and supports first time coaches to this exciting track event. It also develops coaches’ understanding of how to plan and deliver progressive Madison group coaching sessions to develop riders’ understanding of Madison-specific techniques and/or tactics.
The workshop explains the Madison techniques, tactics and coaching activities, including practical demonstrations to ensure the coach is well informed and knowledgeable on current track riding and coaching practices.
Who can apply?
The workshop is available for coaches who have achieved their Level 2 Track Coaching Award and wish to develop their knowledge of coaching the Madison event. Coaching Madison provides continuing professional development for both Level 2 and Level 3 track coaches.
