Our final event of the year is a short but extremely challenging sportive, tackling the famous hill climbs in the Matlock and Derwent Valley area.

Matlock and the surrounding area is steeped with road cycling hill climb history; Bank Road, Riber Road and Rowsley Bar to name just three of the well known ascents.

The Matlock Top 10 celebrates the richness of the areas steep, 20% plus gradient hill climbs by creating a route that ascends 10 of them in just 60-kilometres. That’s 1750m of ascent or 5742-feet in old money.

For those looking for a slightly less extreme challenge come and take part in the Matlock Top 4 – 33-kilometres based on the same route as the Top 10 but just climbing four out of the 10 climbs.

Each climb will be accompanied by roadside climb boards providing information on average gradient, distance and ascent.

Entered already? Want to find out more? Please download the comprehensive Matlock Top 10 event guide for all the relevant event information including; map, profiles, technical insights and organisers comments about all the climbs.

This short but hard sportive is the perfect final road biking challenge of the year before winter.
