This weekend (23rd-25th June) marks the start of our 2017 National Track Championships, with the Youth and Juniors competing for a variety of titles over three days at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Glasgow.

The event, organised by Carole O’Hare – a new Event Organiser who has been volunteering across the sport for three years – will feature events such as Scratch and Points races as well as Individual Pursuits and Sprints.

Previous Points and Scratch Champion Jenny Holl (Team Jadan-Weldtite) will be back to defend her titles, as will Jack Cruden (Glasgow Cycle Team) and Lusia Steele (Glasgow Cycle Team) who both scooped up all but one of the Youth A Championship titles last year.

Eva Young (Pedal Power RT), who won the Omnium title last year, will be back – with strong contender Imani-Pereira-James (East Kilbride Road Club) who has now moved up to the Youth B category this season.

Georgia Mansfield (Forres CC) will also be taking to the track after a successful season on the road so far – winning the Scottish National Junior Women’s Road Race title and holding on to her Scottish National 50 mile and 25 mile TT records.

Dylan Hughes (Spokes Racing Team) and Rhona Callander (Team Jadan-Weldtite), who were just recently selected to compete for Team Scotland at the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas this summer, will also be taking to the track this weekend.

Track centre will be open for spectators all weekend with refreshments available, come down and cheer on our future stars!
