Event Overview

Event promoted by the British Cycling talent development team in partnership with regional British Cycling staff and Southern Cycle Coaching.  

Development Centres support riders with their first step on the talent pathway as well as current riders who have been engaged in RSR and Apprentice programmes.  Online entry is used to support the tracking of riders through the pathway.

Development Centre Session - Youth A/B and Junior riders only.  Sessions will focus on higher level skills development, race fitness, race tactics and race craft and will be supplemented by occasional workshops/forums (training, diet, bike maintenance etc.)

Info for Riders

DATE CHANGE: RE-SCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY 20th DECEMBER 

(14:00-17:00)


This session is limited to 20 riders who are youth A/B or Junior in 2020. In order for riders to be considered for these sessions racers must be competent of riding at any point on the indoor track AND meet at least one of the below critieria:

  • Be already racing on track 
  • Be Indoor Track accredited
  • Be an existing Track RSR or GBCT Apprentice rider

Entry is online ONLY, no entries will be accepted on the day

Riders will need to bring there own equipment and enough food and drink to last the duration of the training session. Please contact Calshot Activities Centre directly for requests to book bikes.

In light of current circumstances face coverings are required in all inside areas for adults and children over the age of 11. We request that riders do not enter the main hangar until 5 minutes prior to the session start time. If participants wish to use the café or toilets, they may access the hangar but please ensure all equipment/bikes remains in the car until 5 mins before session.  All persons entering the velodrome must use the hand sanitiser provided. If participants wish to use the café and/or toilets after the session they are welcome to do so, but all equipment must be removed from the hangar.  The spectator seating area is open, so please can spectators use this area to keep numbers low inside the track area

 

Covid-19 Information:

If you, or anyone in your household is shielding or displaying and covid-19 symptoms do not attend this session. The on-bike sessions are designed to meet current social-distancing and hygiene requirements. Please respect normal social-distancing and hygiene requirements when off the bikes too.

  • Keep 2m apart. Stay in your designated chair and keep your area clear.
  • Do not share equipment.
  • Your own equipment should be clean and sanitised before you use it.
  • Do not congregate more than necessary before and after a session.

Entries will close on the Thursday before the event at 11.55pm.
