I have recently joined/renewed. When will my membership card arrive?

Usually you will receive your membership card in your welcome pack within 14 days from the date of purchase. If you need your membership card in the meantime, our membership team can provide you with an electronic copy via email on request from membership@britishcycling.org.uk

What insurance is included with my membership?

Liability Insurance and Legal Support are included with most of our membership packages. For full details see our membership page. Additionally, members of British Cycling are entitled to preferential rates on bike and travel insurance with a 3rd party company. Can I buy more than one membership at the same time?

Membership must be purchased online for one person at a time to ensure that declarations, consent and terms are received for each member.

Does Race Bronze membership include insurance?

Bronze does not include insurance. However, Race Silver, Race Gold and Ride memberships all provide valuable liability insurance and legal support to members. Please see our Insurance page for more details.

What’s included in Family Membership?

Family Membership is available for up to two adults and any number of children under the age of 18 for who you hold legal responsibility for and who reside at the same address. All the benefits of an individual membership with one easy annual payment. To purchase or renew Family membership, call our team on 0161 274 2010 (lines open Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm, Fri, 9am-3.45pm).

How do I buy a membership for a child?

If you are a parent or guardian purchasing membership for an Under 16 member, you will need to logout from your own account (if you have one) and create an account for your child, remembering to add your own email address and phone number as the main point of contact.

Can I upgrade my membership mid-year?

Yes, you can upgrade at any time during your year by contacting our membership team by email membership@britishcycling.org.uk or by phone on 0161 274 2010 (lines open Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm, Fri, 9am-3.45pm).

I have a Race Licence as well as a membership. They have different expiry dates. Is that correct?

Yes. Your membership runs 12 months from the date of your purchase, whereas a Full Race Licence will expire on the 31st December of the year it was purchased in. This is a rule that we must follow in line with UCI (World Governing Body) regulations.

Can I get my membership to have the same expiry date at my Full Race Licence of 31st December?

Yes, to do this please contact the membership team on email or phone and we will organise a pro-rata adjustment for your membership.

I am joining British Cycling for the first time, how do I use a promo code?

The promotional code box can be found on our online payment page at the end of the membership application. Alternatively, you can quote the promo code when joining over the phone.

I am renewing my membership. Can I use a promotional code?

Unfortunately promotion codes work on our website payment form as an introductory benefit for new members only.

How do I get a temporary electronic copy of my membership card?

You can request an emailed copy by contacting the membership team either via your online dashboard, or by contacting our membership team by email membership@britishcycling.org.uk or by phone on 0161 274 2010 (lines open Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm, Fri, 9am-3.45pm).

What is dispensation and how do I apply for it for my child?

Youth rider dispensation - Authorises a Youth A rider who has gained 50 Licence Points in a Year to compete for the remainder of their time as a Youth A against riders of any older category. In the case of a Youth B rider, authorises a rider who has gained 50 Licence Points in a Year to compete for the remainder of their time as a Youth B in Closed Road Circuit events restricted to Youth A riders. This authorisation will not apply to British National A Events or to British National, Home Country and Regional Championships.

How do I apply for Belgium calendar card?

How do I get a letter of authority to race abroad?

It is a requirement when racing overseas to produce a letter of consent from your National Federation. To enable us to issue a letter of authority you please contact the membership team either via your online dashboard, or by contacting our membership team by email  membership@britishcycling.org.uk or by phone on 0161 274 2010 (lines open Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm, Fri, 9am-3.45pm).
