Great Britain Rider Abbie Taylor took a bronze medal in the Elite women’s final at the UCI Supercross in Abbotsford Canada amongst some stiff competition.

Taylor came through the time trials on Friday night in a time of 35.462 qualifying her for the motos, where the top four riders from each heat would go through to the finals. Taylor found herself in the second heat and qualified fourth, earning her a place in the final. In the finals, the Sheffield rider found herself in gate 6, sandwiched between the Dutch rider and 2010 Junior World Champion, Merle Van Benthem and Australian, Lauren Reynolds. After a hard fought race, Taylor held off Van Benthem, pushing her into fourth and securing a well-deserved bronze medal.

In the men’s race, Great Britain riders Kyle Evans, Grant Hill and Curtis Manaton made it to the quarter finals finishing placing in 21st 23rd and 27th respectively.
