About Emma:

A former cross-country runner, Emma switched to cycling after an injury prevented her running and has since proved herself a talented road rider, most at home in hilly terrain where she has few peers.

Emma first represented Great Britain in 2007 in the Road World Championships where she finished 8th in the Road Race and 9th in the Time Trial.

2008 brought success for Emma, starting off with her win in the Trofeo Alfredo Binda UCI Road World Cup event in Italy.

Next stop for Emma was the 2008 Beijing Olympics which saw her finish 23rd in the Road Race playing a key role in helping Nicole Cooke take the Gold. However, Emma’s breakthrough performance came soon afterwards when she won a silver medal in the Olympic women’s Time Trial.
