Host a Welsh Cycling Championship or event in 2017

Welsh Cycling is inviting you and your club to host a cycling event in Wales in 2017. Expressions of interest are now open to host a Welsh Cycling Championship or calendar event next year. 

Welsh Cycling would like to extend their thanks to the race organisers, clubs, officials and volunteers who have organised events in throughout 2016, and to those who are preparing for the last events of the season.

Invitations are now open for expressions of interest to host Welsh Cycling Championships across disciplines. The 2017 calendar is also being prepared and we welcome organisers to begin registering their events for inclusion in the 2017 British Cycling calendar.

2017 Welsh Cycling Championships

Invitations are now open for expressions of interest to host a Welsh Cycling Championship. As an organiser of a Welsh Cycling Championship event, you will receive:  

  • Additional support form Welsh Cycling
  • Race Equipment (including signage and radios)
  • Timing System Equipment (Circuit/MTB/Cyclo-Cross)
  • Welsh Cycling Championship medals and jerseys
  • Welsh Cycling branding for use at the event
  • Welsh Cycling promotion before, during and post event

2017 Welsh Cycling Events Calendar

The Welsh Cycling Events Calendar is now being prepared for 2017, and we welcome race organisers and clubs to submit their events for inclusion. To be included in the 2017 British Cycling calendar, events must be registered ahead of each quarterly publication. Deadline to be confirmed.

The following registration guidelines apply to event registrations across all disciplines.


 

2017 Fees and Charges

Please note the following costs for the 2017 season:

  • British Cycling National Levies are £3.00 per rider and £1.50 for under 16s
  • Welsh Cycling Regional levies for open road racing are £2.50 per rider
  • NEG £80 - per marshal per day
  • CSAS £40 - per marshal per day
  • Transponder Timing System Hire including Timing Chips and System Operative hire cost to be confirmed

Risk Assessments

For 2017, risk assessments will be available for all existing courses. If you wish to use a new course, please contact Welsh Cycling by Wednesday 30 November 2016 to ensure the course can be risk assessed ahead of your event.

When you register your event, please upload a Permit Application Form with the following information:

  • Course name & number (Road & Circuit)
  • Number of laps (Road only)
  • Total race distance (Road only)
