Wales Youth Programme riders took the over-all win in the Inter Regional Track Championships in Glasgow this weekend.

Four female youth riders and four male youth riders competed across the championship weekend, which included points, madison and elimination races.

Owain Roberts, James Codd, Jacob Dixon and Evan Richards made up the Youth boys team, whilst Elynor Backstedt, Zoe Backstedt, Ella Barnwell and Emma Finucane competed on the Youth girls team.

This success comes off the back of the 2017 School Games earlier in the month, which saw the team defend their 2016 inter regional road title.

National Performance Pathway Manager at Welsh Cycling, Ian Jenkins said "Another great success and experience for our youth riders this weekend.

"We are really proud of their achievements and how far they have come as a team and individuals and we look forward to watching them continually grow and further progess their skills and techniques as riders."
