If you’ve been inspired by Olympic action in the Velodrome these last few weeks, then watch as the curtain opens on more track action in Wales next week. 

Entries are now open for the 2012 Welsh Team Pursuit and Team Sprint Championships on Sunday, 23rd September at Wales’ National Velodrome in Newport.

The championships are an opportunity for riders to showcase their talent as Welsh Cycling seeks the next generation of new stars to follow the likes of Geraint Thomas and Becky James.

Entry is online via the British Cycling online entry system.

2011 Welsh Track Championships in Newport

Prizes will be presented to the winners of the event, with the leading Welsh qualified team receiving medals.

With free spectating and refreshments available, it’s set to be a great Sunday evening for all the family to see some star performances and the best of talent in Wales. 

Teams entering for the Welsh Open Championships will need to enter individually and email their team combinations to coaching@realteam.co.uk .

Riders are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the eligibility criteria for Welsh Championships.

Competitors who don’t meet the eligibility requirements for the Welsh Championships may enter the team sprint and team pursuit to be held as part of the Championships, but will not be eligible for Championship medals.

Racing starts from 5pm until 7pm.
