Wales' Mark Colbourne will make his track debut for Great Britain at the UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships in Los Angeles, taking place on 9-12 February 2012. He joins a team of 14 riders announced today by British Cycling.
Mark Colbourne will make his track debut for GB after competing on the road in 2011
The team consist of six Paralympic Champions – Anthony Kappes, Darren Kenny, Jody Cundy, Barney Storey, Sarah Storey and Aileen McGlynn – and a number of promising London 2012 hopefuls including Mark Colbourne.
Performance Manager Gareth Sheppard said: “The World Championships in LA are the final qualification event for the 2012 London Paralympic Games and we have selected a strong team to maximise medal opportunities and bring back vital qualification points.
“Next time we meet our opponents will be on the boards of the London Velodrome in August, so LA is also the final opportunity for our track riders to measure their performance against the competition and we are looking forward to some exciting British performances.”
