Welsh Cycling welcomes Ride Social, a new online way for people to build their own cycling communities created by British Cycling and Sky. Cyclists can visit ridesocial.co.uk and create a profile that allows them to join and create bike rides in their local area.

Following a rebrand resulting in a new name, logo and style, Ride Social already boasts a 50,000 strong user base with 950 groups organising 3,000 rides.

Anne Adams-King, Welsh Cycling's Chief Executive Officer said: " Ride Social is a great way to enhance and grow the cycling community across Great Britain, and see poeple out and about on their bikes making new friends. We now also have Breeze bike rides for women in Wales, so Ride Social is a fantastic extension of social cycling in Wales."

Stewart Kellett, British Cycling’s recreation and partnerships director, said: "We are delighted to have created a place for cyclists of all abilities to make friends, form groups and get out and ride their way. Ride Social is a great addition to our existing ride programmes, Sky Ride Local guided rides and Breeze bike rides for women."

To celebrate the launch of Ride Social, cycling enthusiasts are being offered the chance to win a bike ride with a member of Team Sky.
