Spring is forecast to put in an appearance at the weekend so come and join us on Sunday for the first Welsh Cross-Country Mountain Bike Series event of the year in Coed Llandegla, home of the popular Oneplanet Adventure MTB Centre.

Hosts for the event are North Wales clubs Clwb Beicio Mynydd Dyffryn Conwy and Dreigiau Coed y Brenin Dragons and a joint working party has been busy over the winter clearing 700m of new single track through the woods. The course is 5km in length but does not include any of the existing trails and will be closed to the public at the weekend.

There is racing for all ages and abilities and includes Go-Race and Fun categories respectively for under 12s and riders 12 and over who are new to the sport. S4C's Clwb will be filming the event and interviewing riders for broadcast.

Online entry closes on Thursday 10 March but there is entry on the day. A British Cycling racing licence is only required by riders seeking ranking points. There is no surcharge for riders who do not have British Cycling membership.

The course will be open for official practice prior to the races on Sunday; riders must have their number board attached for official practice. The course will be open for practice after 3.00pm on Saturday but there will be no marshals or first aid. Please wear a helmet at all times and take care when out on the course.
