Builth Wells residents joined in our Go-Ride Summer of Cycling, competing in fun Go-Ride Racing events in Fforest Fields with The Bulls.

Fforest Fields is a regular host of national mountain bike races, and is a great venue to introduce young riders to montian bike racing.

With riders aged from 4 - 16 years old, the race would allow for coaching before riders tackled a downhill time trial, to place them into similar ability groups ahead of a mass start race.

Supported by local Go-Ride club, The Bulls the event forms part of our Go-Ride Summer of Cycling where Welsh Cycling and our family of 25 Go-Ride clubs are putting on holiday activities including open days, coaching and entry level racing to help capitalise on people’s interest in our sport during the Olympics.

Dan Coast, Cycling Development Officer for South Wales said: “The success of Welsh athletes in the Tour de France and Rio 2016 has seen more young people wanting to give cycling a go. Our Go-Ride Summer of Cycling programme enables cycling clubs across Wales to put on activities for local children. The Bulls have recently achieved the Go-Ride Clubmark accreditation, and is a great club for young people in Builth Wells to start cycling."

Go-Ride clubs have been hosting sessions across Wales to inspire young people to cycle this summer. The emphasis has been on having fun on the bike, enjoying cycling with local cycling clubs.
