The success of the West Wales Women's Cycle Sessions has led to more being planned for spring, and an increased interest in the circuit racing series.
The women only sessions aimed to bring together female members of the cycling community in West Wales to develop riders as a group and not as individuals. The two hour session were dedicated to developing on and off the bike skills within a closed road circuit environment, delivered by local club coaches and Welsh Cycling.
With sessions taking place in January and February, riders are now well equipped to start racing in the spring. Riders travelled from Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Swansea and Carmarthenshire with their skills ranging from beginners to experienced riders. The sessions started with riders familiarising riding in a group, developing to group riding and by the final session riding in a chaingang formation.
Further sessions in the spring will be confirmed shortly, with the Forza Cycles Season Opener starting the circuit series on Sunday 22 February at Llandow Circuit.
The next West Wales Women's Cycle Session will take place on Saturday 28 March at Carmarthen Show Ground.
