Volunteers from across Wales descended on Swansea University to attend a variety of workshops for our Go Ride Clubs.

The conference hosted our first Young Volunteers course where our candidates look at how they can make an impact on their club through officiating, coaching and other volunteering. Meanwhile, upstairs the workshop plan was thrown out the window as a group of Welfare Officers dived into the Safeguarding course with rarely seen enthusiasm.

The most popular workshop of the morning was delivered by our development team, focusing on CPD for club coaches. The workshop focused around analysing coaching practices along with improving rider performance. The workshop was part theory and part practical, encouraging the volunteers to brave the great outdoors in the some rather damp conditions.

After a networking lunch there was a competitive edge from the deliverers to see which workshop would prove the most popular. Michelle Daltry from Disability Sport Wales delivered a session looking at inclusivity for clubs, and how the insport accreditation from DSW can be part of Go Ride clubmark. Jonathan Roberts delivered a Sport Wales funding workshop, which also proved very popular.  Themes covered included Community Chest funding and Development Grants, which proved very useful and insightful for those involved, hopefully leading to more funds being accessed by clubs. The event was brought to a close by Anne Adams-King, Chief Executive Officer. With a short talk on the progress made by the organisation, as well as future developments.  Anne was very pleased to be able to present several awards to Go Ride Clubs, as well as a Gold Award to Ceri Jones who is our first Young Volunteer from Port Talbot Wheelers.
