Welsh Cycling welcomes Alistair Waldron to the new role of Workforce Officer as cycling in Wales continues to grow.

Alistair has moved from the Sports Club Coordinator role at Cardiff University, with a long service at Cricket Wales prior to this. Having worked in Sports Development since graduating from UWIC Alistair brings with him experience from a range of sports, organisations and Local Authorities.

The Workforce role at Welsh Cycling looks to further develop the existing workforce, whilst also looking to enlarge the base of coaches, volunteers and officials to match the growth currently being seen in cycling.

Alistair said of his appointment, “I am looking forward to joining Welsh Cycling at such an exciting time. The success for our elite athletes and the sport's surge in popularity creates a great opportunity and need to develop and enlarge our volunteer workforce.

As with all sports, cycling would not function without its volunteers. I am keen to use the expertise and experience already in place to help drive cycling forward.”
