Team Wales' Elinor Barker graced the silver step of the podium after an epic battle in the Points race at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, adding a second medal to her Glasgow 2014 campaign.

Elinor was pipped to gold by Team England's Laura Trott, has they sprinted for the line, level on points. It was an impressive performance by the 19-year old from Cardiff. The silver will join Elinor's bronze medal won in the Scratch race on Saturday.

"I'm really happy with the silver medal, but it was so close against Laura! It was all down to the final sprint, I am very proud of the way I raced, and at 19 I can't complain too much about coming second to a double Olympic champion!"

The track cycling competition concluded on Sunday, with Sam Harrison finishing 7th in the Scratch race, with Owain Doull in 15th and Jon Mould did not finish. Rhiannon Henry and Rachel James finished 6th in the 1000m Time Trial B Tandem, and Lewis Oliva got knocked out of the Keirin in the first round repechage.

Wales will compete in the Time Trial on Thursday 31 July and the Road Race on Sunday 3rd August.
