British Cycling has announced the Great Britain Cycling Team squad for the 2014 UEC Junior and Under-23 European Track Championships in Anadia, Portugal from 22-27 July.
A 17-strong team will compete over six days at the Sangalhos National Velodrome, which includes four Welsh junior cyclists. Emily Nelson, Manon Lloyd and Megan Barker will compete in women's endurance events, with Joe Holt competing in the men's endurance events.
Speaking of selection, British Cycling performance pathway manager Ian Yates said: “I’m pleased with the squad we have selected for the UEC Junior and Under-23 European Track Championships.
“We have a good mix of first and second year riders across both age-groups representing Great Britain who will all benefit from the experience of competing at an international level. It’s also a good opportunity for myself and the coaching team to assess riders’ progress which is one of our key priorities for this event.
“The UEC Junior and Under-23 European Track Championships are an important part of our riders’ journey to become a world-class athlete and we’re all looking forward to the racing being underway.”
