Welsh Cycling has secured a Community Safety Award Scheme (CSAS) training day for Saturday 29 March 2014 in North Wales, venue to be confirmed.

The training day will be delivered by Gwent Police and those who attend and complete the course will become an accredited CSAS marshal. This empowers marshals to legally stop and direct traffic at competitive cycle events.

CSAS marshals play a very important role in road racing by controlling traffic at major junctions, roundabouts, narrow bridges and making other highway hazards safer for riders to pass. The scheme enables both moto and static marshals to exercise these powers. CSAS training courses are free.

If you are interested in attending the training day and assisting at road events in Wales in 2014 or if you would like more information about CSAS please contact Anthony Antippas, Workforce Development Officer anthony.antippas@welshcycling.co.uk
