This weekend eight Welsh cyclists will compete at the Sainsbury's 2013 School Games held in Sheffield, one of the biggest youth multi-sport events in the UK.
114 riders will represent Wales, Ulster, Scotland and the English regions in the cycling events, with 10 athletes also competing in the para-cycling events. The competition is spread over three days, and includes both individual and team time trials; criterium and sprint events, culminating with road races on Sunday.
Four girls and four boys will represent Wales at the event, previously known as the UK School Games, competing with riders from all over the country at Forge Valley School and Bradfield School from 13 - 15 September.
The Sainsbury's 2013 School Games aims to create an inspirational and motivational setting to provide athletes with the opportunity to thrive and perform, whilst also encouraging more young people to take part in sport.
