Project 2018 Preview: Towy Rider Youth Omnium

The Project 2018 Race Series round four travels to Carmarthen on Saturday 6 April introducing the first track event of the series, hosted by Towy Riders.

Carmarthen Outdoor Velodrome in west Wales will see omnium action on the track throughout the day for all youth categories. Youth A and B will compete on fixed wheel bikes, with Youth C-E using free wheel bikes on the outdoor track. The Towy Rider Youth Omnium will include five omnium events; time trial, scratch race, 200m sprint, points race and elimination race.

Sign on will open on Saturday 6 April for youth riders at 9.00am. There will be an opportunity to warm up on the track from 9.30am – 9.50am, with the rider briefing at 9.50am. Racing will start promptly at 10.00am, more information is available in the race programme.

Event organiser Andrew Smith, Towy Riders said: “It’s great that Towy Riders are hosting the first track event of the Project 2018 Race Series and we look forward to inviting riders from across Wales to compete on the Carmarthen Velodrome. We hope that all competitors will enjoy a great day of racing here in west Wales.”

Online entry is encouraged, and is open until Wednesday 3 April but the organisers will accept entries on the day.
