Report: Rebecca Ransom
As part of Project 2018, Welsh Cycling will be hosting four Wattbike testing sessions at locations across Wales.
The Wattbike testing is open to Youth A and B riders in Wales and will take place between Sunday 3rd and Wednesday 6th March 2013 at four venues. Project 2018 Co-ordinator Courtney Rowe will be in Newport, Maindy, Carmarthen and Marsh Tracks to co-ordinate the testing.
The Wattbike test will comprise of a sprint and endurance test in line with British Cycling protocol. The data collected will not form any part of a selection procedure but could be useful in assisting with the design of a training strategy.
Those wishing to take part in Wattbike testing will need:
- to bring a pair of pedals and a tool to fit them to the watt bike. A member of staff will fit the pedals.
- to know their saddle height in millimetres from centre of pedal spindle to top of saddle at the greatest distance.
- to supply their own warm up equipment (bicycle and rollers/turbo)
