2010 Commissaires Conference

Event Dates: 6-7 February | Download: Booking Form

Bookings are now being accepted for the 2010 Commissaires Conference which promises to be a great event for officials working across all disciplines. Booking closes on January 10 2010.

The two day event to be held February 6/7 near Birmingham, will be subsidised by British Cycling, blending a combination of core principles with discipline specific topics surrounding the role of commissaires today.

The 2010 conference is set to focus on exploring and celebrating what makes a great commissaire and hopes to provide you with an opportunity to join with other cycling officials, from a range of disciplines, to share experiences and good practice in a positive learning environment.

Day one will include an overview of British Cycling's plans for officials as we build up to London 2012, bringing you up to date with the latest information and initiatives.

Following on from that we are hoping to investigate what makes a great commissaire through definition and discussion of ‘best practice' models that are common across all cycling disciplines.

British Cycling's anti-doping team will then provide an update of the processes, procedures and regulations that are currently being used and provide an opportunity for you to ask questions.

Day One will be concluded with a three course meal and an opportunity to informally speak to and network with other delegates in a social environment.

Day two will begin with an opportunity for you to apply or renew your CRB check and to get answers to any questions on compliance and protecting individuals in the sport.

This will be followed by a module on safeguarding and protecting children as part of your continuing professional development (CPD).

The remainder of the day will then involve separating into discipline specific groups and discussing the application of day one's findings along with the more specific issues and updates from within the disciplines.

As part of British Cycling's ongoing commitment to officials' involved in cycle sport we will be providing a subsidy to the cost of attending the conference, this subsidy will be applied when booking; the price on the booking form is the total cost to you.

Booking forms for the 2010 conference need to be returned via post by the 10th of January 2010.
