It's now just four months to go before the start of the 2011 UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships.

These are to be held at the Manchester Velodrome making a welcome return after a four year absence and advance plans for this prestigious event are now in place.

The event web site www.cyclingmasters.com now carries full details of the championships with on line entry available plus hotel details, transport to and from Manchester Airport and the official hotels and the velodrome plus on line souvenir and ticket sales. There's lots more content there including lists of previous champions, photos and event information.

The event schedule is now finalised and features a Super Saturday with the Muratti Cup, The Brian Cossavella Memorial Scratch and an Over 50 Scratch race. There will also be a Womens Team Sprint as a trial event which if successful and well supported could be a championship in 2012.

There will be an official training day on Sunday October 9th and these should also be booked in advance but arrangements can be made direct with the Velodrome for extra sessions prior to this. Contact is Nicola O'Neill at the Velodrome to arrange this. email: n.oneill@nationalcyclingcentre.com

Major developments have been taking place at the Velodrome site for the past year and by the time of the championships the new indoor BMX Centre will be open. This is linked to the Velodrome and provides us with enhanced facilities and catering services plus new offices for the British Cycling.

The Championships organisers look forward to seeing all its friends back at Manchester and ask that they get their entries and other requirements registered as soon as possible which will allow us to make sure that the Manchester experience is a good one.
