Sir Chris Hoy kept his lead in the sprint competition at the Six Days of Rotterdam with wins in the individual and team sprint on evening four.

Fellow Great Britain rider Jason Kenny remains in second overall with a victory eluding the 24-year-old in the Ahoy Rotterdam during the night.

British Cycling Olympic Podium Programme rider Hoy paired with Teun Mulder in the two-man team sprint and together they overcame Kenny and Frenchman Gregory Bauge by over half a second.

Kenny, a double gold medallist at the London Games, then qualified fastest in the sprint ahead of Hoy, Mulder and Bauge. The Bolton-born rider dispatched of Bauge in his semi-final with a photo finish not enough to separate Hoy and Mulder in their tie. The three went into the final where Hoy edged out Kenny and Mulder to extend his lead.

The keirin witnessed world sprint champion and Olympic silver medallist Gregory Bauge earn his first win of the whole competition, winning ahead of Hoy, Kenny and Mulder.

It means Hoy is now four points clear of second place Kenny in the Giant Sprint Masters event, with Mulder third and Bauge fourth with two evenings remaining.
