British Cycling Olympic Academy Programme riders Elinor Barker, Amy Roberts and George Atkins have been included in the squad for Welsh Cycling trade outfit Team USN for the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Aguascalientes, Mexico from 17- 19 January.

The Great Britain Cycling Team will not be sending a squad to the round which concludes the 2012-13 series.

World junior time-trial champion Barker won team pursuit gold in the Glasgow edition of the event in November in the colours of Great Britain alongside Olympic champions Laura Trott and Dani King.

She had previously won silver in the discipline alongside Amy Roberts and Ciara Horne in the opening round in Cali, Colombia.

Atkins’ last outing in the competition came in January last year at the Laoshan Velodrome in Beijing and he will focus on the madison in Mexico with Jon Mould.

Team USN manager, Matt Cosgrove said: “To have the women’s team pursuit squad return for the final round of the world cup is great for the team.

“Each team member has their own personal goals but the overall aim for Team USN is for the riders to develop and become more experienced at world level.

“This experience is invaluable for these Welsh Cycling supported riders as we edge closer to the Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow next year.”
