British Cycling can today announce that the first round of the 2021 National Youth Omnium Series, which was due to take place on the weekend of 13-14 March, has been cancelled due to the ongoing disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first round was due to take place across four indoor locations – Newport (13th), Derby (14th), Manchester (14th) and London (14th) – as part of a newly-developed series format aimed at aimed at giving riders more flexibility in choosing which events they compete in.

We know that this announcement will come as a disappointment to riders and parents, however we remain optimistic that the remainder of the 2021 track calendar will be able to proceed with minimal disruption.

British Cycling’s events team continues to monitor the situation and ensure that we are well-placed to resume events as soon as we are able, and any changes to future rounds will be communicated at the earliest opportunity. As always we are thankful for the ongoing patience and determination of our event organisers in what we know is a challenging time.
