British Cycling, in partnership UK Sport, Glasgow Life and EventScotland, is delighted to confirm that the TISSOT UCI Track Cycling World Cup series will be returning to Britain in 2019.
Glasgow’s Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome will host the second round of the 2019/20 series from November 8-10, with the event representing a crucial chance for nations to register qualifying points for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The event, funded by The National Lottery, will bring together the very best international riders as they begin to fine-tune their Olympic preparations over the three days of competition.
British Cycling chief executive, Julie Harrington, said:
“We’re delighted to be staging another TISSOT UCI Track Cycling World Cup in this country. Over recent years, we’ve seen British riders excel in front of home crowds, and with this event falling at such a pivotal point in Tokyo preparations, this announcement is great news for both our riders and for cycling fans, who will once again get to see the best cyclists in the world competing on British soil."
Glasgow last hosted a TISSOT UCI Track Cycling World Cup in November 2016, while the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome is also the venue for the forthcoming UEC European Track Cycling Championships as part of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, which take place from August 2-12.

“The TISSOT UCI Track Cycling World Cup in 2016 was a wonderful event for Glasgow, with many sold-out sessions giving fans the chance to see world-famous riders up close and in action."

The highly anticipated event will continue to build on Scotland’s reputation as the perfect stage for major cycling events, following the upcoming UEC European Cycling Championships as part of Glasgow 2018."
The Glasgow round will be the fourth UCI TISSOT Track Cycling World Cup in four years on British soil, with the 2018/19 series coming to London from December 14-16.
